An original, one-of-a-kind piece, this painting is created using acrylic paints on a deep-edged canvas. My process begins with observation, then in the studio, I work intuitively, laying down initial brushwork before building up texture with impasto techniques using a palette knife. I draw inspiration from both the optical mixing of the Impressionists and the traditional methods of the old masters, such as scumbling and glazing.
Each layer adds depth and emotion, and I continue refining the piece until it naturally comes to completion. The final result is a contemporary painting that lives between abstraction and realism. The artwork extends around the edges of the canvas, is signed on the front, and is ready to hang, no framing required.
