Artwork description:

Moody skies at Scarista Beach on the Isle of Harris in the far north of Scotland. An image filled with grey and dark grey / mauve, beige..... the colours of a stormy sky. This tiny island with its vast skies, is the perfect place to find solitude and peace even for a walk in the rain...... even when a storm approaches in the middle of Winter. The beach and the colours in the sky form beautiful colours and patterns delighting the senses and taking you out of yourself and into an experience of colour. Printed on beautifully aquarelle fine art paper that has a watercolour paper texture and will not to fade for over a hundred years. Printed at 32 x 48 inches plus a 3 inches white border for handling. The signature, title and edition number are in the border under the image for a total size of 51 x 36 inches. This image is the perfect proportions for over the bed or over the sofa. Also available on request on canvas and in other sizes. My work is all about the emotional connection we have to a place and the moment in our memory when we felt such intense pleasure looking at a landscape. I am driven to capture the essence of a place with my camera, working mainly with the colours and shapes I see when I half close my eyes. I travel to remote islands, to places steeped in history, unspoilt beaches and wild rocky coastlines where I love to work in quiet solitude.

Materials used:

Exquisite fine art paper and intensely coloured non fade inks
