MONUMENTS OF THE PAST
from the Contours of Time series

In Monuments of the Past, two monumental forms lean into one another, held in a moment of quiet equilibrium. The composition isolates a relationship between mass and gravity, where weight is both supported and suspended, suggesting a balance shaped over time.

Rendered in a reductive black-and-white palette, the image emphasizes surface, texture, and the subtle articulation of light across stone. Stripped of context, the forms take on a near-figurative presence, evoking a sense of stillness, endurance, and the passage of time embedded within the landscape.

Part of the Contours of Time series, this work explores the intersection of natural formation and sculptural abstraction, where geological structures begin to suggest gesture, tension, and quiet human resonance.
