Mirrored Room (Ice Cream Parlour) is a realist oil painting on panel and measures 24 x 30inches (approx 61 x 76cm).
The painting depicts an interior of a real ice cream parlour that the artist visited on a trip to the south coast of England. Christopher Witchall was instantly fascinated by the disorientating effects of light and reflections as they bounced back and forward from the mirrored walls and the mirrored tiles on the ceiling. “As soon as we sat down, I knew I wanted to make a painting of it! The whole room was reflecting back as fractured light and space, like a cubist painting”.
The resulting painting was shortlisted for the Cork Street Open in 2013. It is sold framed in a dark wood narrow frame and is ready to hang
