Midnight Oasis (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Nicole Esposito Woodall

50.8 x 40.64 x 1.91cm (unframed) / 50.8 x 40.64cm (actual image size)

Some of my fondest memories with my grand mom were spent wandering the aisles of our local fabric store, admiring bolts of beautifully printed textiles. We could spend hours together, drawn to intricate florals and timeless patterns.

One design, in particular, captured both of our hearts—a scattering of soft pink blooms set against a deep midnight blue background, woven together with the most delicate abstract details. We loved it so much that we bought several yards, and she lovingly sewed matching duvet covers for our beds.

Though those treasured duvets have long since been lost to time, the memory of that beautiful fabric has stayed with me for decades. As I began this painting shortly before my grand mom's passing, those memories found their way back to the surface. Completing it that same month became a quiet tribute to the love we shared and the creative bond that continues to inspire my work.

16×20 in size, and painted on canvas in acrylic; both inks and paint. Varnished with an archival satin finish, and ready to hang right out of her box, with the appropriate hardware already attached. Painting is carried over onto the sides of the canvas, so framing is optional, but not necessary. Signed, numbered and dated on the back.
