Painted as part of the Shaped by the Surface series, this work explores a landscape held in suspension rather than movement. Slopes, vegetation, and open sky form a quiet balance, where no single element dominates and the terrain feels gently supported rather than grounded.
The composition avoids a clear destination. Instead, it presents a moment held between growth and stillness, where space unfolds slowly through texture and light. Thick, tactile layers of oil paint interact with the resistant paper surface, allowing marks to remain visible and the process to stay present.
