Original artwork description:

‘Meditation in Green Hues’ was the first painting to be showcased in a group art show. It was at the Irish Arts Center in New York, the show was called ‘Signature of Thought.’ The year was 2013 and the show was curated by my watercolor professor at Hunter College Colette Murphy.

It was in her class during an experiment that I discovered this signature stroke which became a part of my work ever since. She simply asked us to play with the tools we had to see what kind of markings they could make and I ultimately stumbled upon this line work and couldn't stop painting lines. Playing with new tools - brushes, paints, pencils has remained a part of my practice whenever I get new art supplies. I never know what interesting mark making I might discover.

I am grateful for having the chance to be her student. She had a curiosity about the work of her students and that in turn helped me to be curious about what I was painting, to approach it and see it from a new perspective.

‘Meditation in Green Hues’ is one of the original paintings of this line work. Throughout the past decade, the line has morphed and grown and mingled with other strokes to produce a series of paintings on the variation of this theme. I call this collection ‘Tangled.’

Painting is frames in a 22" x 30" Metal frame is made from extremely rigid and high-quality aluminum with a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant color finish. The frame comes with Clear Framing Grade Acrylic that offers beautiful clarity at half the weight of glass and many times the impact resistance. Additionally, it blocks some ultraviolet light.
