Me, Every Other Hour (2022) Original Acrylic Painting by Emmanuel Akolo

I made this painting to show the heavy feeling that comes with working hard and having big dreams. It shows a person resting their head in their hand, feeling very tired from thinking so much. A special part of this art is the clock made of dominoes. It shows how time can feel like it is falling apart and how we always feel the need to do more. It is for those times when the goal feels too far away, but you keep going because you have to.

In this painting, I used bright yellows and warm brown skin tones to show the person’s "inner glow". I put them against a plain background so you can focus only on their feelings. This work celebrates the strength it takes to keep trying even when life feels like too much. It shows that there is beauty and honor in not giving up.
