Encaustic on panel, this abstract geometric painting is part of my “Spectrum Series”, an exploration into the joy of color and a study of color relationships. The raw wood background of the painting is preserved under a thin layer of clear encaustic wax.
Encaustic was a favored material of the artist, Jasper Johns. It is made from a combination of beeswax, pigment and resin, and the paint shows an unmatched quality of texture and depth in color.
Domenica Brockman creates unique works using paint and collage to explore abstract inner landscapes through color, shape, and texture.
