The “Mexico City Arena” is also known as the “Lucha Libre Catedral” (Wrestling Cathedral). Several times a week the masked wrestlers fight there according to a scenario often written in advance in front of an acquired and good-natured audience.I have reinterpreted the iconography of wrestler masks (cult objects of Mexican popular art) by de-structuring them, cutting them out before
mixing the elements to compose and recreate improbable models. Acrylic on paper.
