Oil artwork “March” portrays an early spring rural landscape where melting snow reveals fresh green grass and dark water streams running through the fields. Tall trees with pale violet branches rise beside a small farmhouse and rustic fences, while patches of snow still remain across the countryside. The composition captures the delicate moment between winter and spring, when the landscape begins to awaken and nature slowly changes its colors.
The inspiration for this scene comes from the quiet beauty of March in the countryside. During this time, melting snow, flowing water, and the first green tones appear across the fields. I was especially drawn to the contrast between the soft violet trees, the warm tones of the farmhouse and hay, and the bright green grass emerging through the melting snow. The small stream and reflective water create movement within the calm rural landscape.
This artwork is created with oil on canvas, using expressive palette-knife techniques that build rich layers and textured surfaces. Thick strokes emphasize the grass, trees, and melting snow while adding depth to the fields and countryside. The impasto texture enhances the vibrant colors and natural atmosphere, capturing the feeling of early spring when nature begins to come back to life.
