I was lucky about 30 years ago to spend 10 months on a tiny island in the Maldives in the Indian Ocean. Unforgettable experience.
Above the water line: sand, some buildings overlooked by fine coconut trees.
Under the water line it is an enchanting firework display - corals and fish rivaling in originality, shapes and colors. A painter’s delight.
For how long ? This paradise is threatened by global warming (rising water) and excessive tourist pressure
