This original watercolour captures the elegance of Madrid's iconic Edificio Metrópolis, standing proudly at the junction of Calle de Alcalá and Gran Vía.
Painted using multiple transparent layers of watercolour washes, I have sought to evoke the atmosphere of a moody, rain-washed afternoon. The wet streets shimmer with reflections of the city's historic architecture, while soft skies and muted light create a calm, contemplative mood.
