Original artwork description
I am often out and about with my rucksack and easel to paint in the beautiful city of Luxembourg. On a rainy day, this is difficult, I admit, but I was participating in an open air market and had a tent over my head when I painted this view of the iconic city skyline. While I was painting, I spotted someone in the distance with an orange umbrella. It was such a lovely spot of brightness among the otherwise muted colours that I decided to include this component in my composition. "Luxembourg in the Rain" is one of a series of paintings of the city of Luxembourg which I have painted from this location.
