Lugano - hot afternoon (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Julia Rigby

The heat of the day in Lugano. Deep shade in amongst the tall buildings of the old town and the welcome protection offered by a cafe parasol.
This painting is based on a photo I took when I visited in 2026. I was trying to get the positioning of the cafe in my shot just right when the couple in the bottom left walked into shot - perfect! I had my painting inspiration!
I loved trying to create the feeling of the very hot day and the shadows created by the tall tree. A little bit of artistic licence was used with this element which I hopes adds to the paintings feeling of intimacy.
The artwork is supplied framed and ready to hang. I can provide a white, grey or black wooden frame. Glazing is acrylic for safe transport.
