Love of Life (2023) Original Oil Painting by Oksana Sadykova

70 x 40 x 2cm (unframed)

£518.79

This painting was created in oil on canvas in Tuscany, in a house among the rolling hills. It was a golden September evening — the sun was setting behind the line of hills, and an umbrella pine looked in through the window. From a nearby villa came the sound of a piano. I painted without sketches or rulers, only with oil: first came the red chair and the woman with hair flowing in the wind, then the fruits on the piano, the bird on the edge, flowers in a clay vase, and the pine tree outside the window all appeared by themselves. Oil allowed the color to be deep and alive, and the brushstrokes to breathe like the Tuscan wind.
I was inspired by the Tuscan _dolce vita_ — the art of finding celebration in a simple day. In a cup of coffee on the terrace. In music played just for yourself. In the light that turns stone walls to honey.
I chose the naive style to keep that childlike sincerity. No academic correctness, just pure color and warmth. Oil gives that velvety depth you can’t get with acrylic. The red chair is like a drop of Tuscan wine. The flowing hair is the wind running across the hills. The fruits on the piano are the harvest from the garden. The bird is lightness and freedom. The flowers in the vase are poppies and daisies from the roadside. And the pine tree outside the window is the soul of inland Tuscany. Broad, generous, giving shade at noon. It connects the house to the sky and the earth.
"Love of Life" is an antidepressant painting. Painted in oil in a naive style, but with a very warm, “sunny” harmony. It’s not about drama — it’s about joy.
It’s special because it carries the spirit of the place. Hang it on your wall and the room fills with Tuscan light. Look at the movement of the hair and the pine branches — and you can almost hear the quiet of the fields after midday.
For collectors, this is a work with character and story. Original oil painting, a piece of Tuscany without postcard clichés. Just music, nature, beauty, and love for life — the very reason we live.
