When you love someone, you gladly do whatever you can for the other person's greater good, in large or small things, no matter if it's convenient or inconvenient. Loving someone takes us beyond ourselves, beyond our selfishness, so that we care more about the person we love than we do about ourselves. There is no room in real love for manipulation or control. Love is woven from all that we give of ourselves--patience, kindness, sharing, sacrifice and forgiveness--day by day, in actions and in the supportive and encouraging things we say to each other--and the harsh things we don't say. Each person gives, each receives, and the pattern continues, just as fabric is woven one strand at a time. This is the kind of love I wish for everyone, and if you're blessed enough to love someone, then this painting will be a fitting gift for your loved one. This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection, and hanging hardware is already installed.
