Original artwork description:

A small but beautiful painting that emerged from a sketch for a very large canvas*. The subject is the small wild orchid I discovered while working on my knees in the nursery. Dotted flower heads against the autumn sky. The low sun, the gathering clouds—a magical moment! On the canvas, I experimented with a thickening medium in the underpainting. As a result, the work now appears to "overflow" the edge. I love it!

The painting is varnished and a wire for hanging is attached on the back

heavy body medium, acrylic underpainting, tape, oilpaint, brushes and palet knive
