I painted this in Kyiv, on a plein air outing I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

The pond was still. The lilies opened in the sun. But above us, the sky reminded us how fragile silence can be.

Lily Pond. Summer holds that memory — of light on water, of color blooming despite everything.
I painted quickly, quietly, like trying to breathe something into canvas before it passed.
