Original artwork description
In this work I continue exploring the expressive potential of color and gesture within the still life genre. The composition unites a single lily in a glass bottle and a vivid bouquet of sunflowers and zinnias, set against a layered background of violet and coral tones.
My process combines loose lines with structured color fields. I use acrylic in its different physical states — transparent washes, flowing drips, and thick textured strokes — to explore how materiality itself can convey emotion and light.
The contrast between the cool ultramarine shadows and the warm reds and yellows creates a vibrant tension, turning an ordinary arrangement of flowers into a study of rhythm and balance.
