Original artwork description
Painting worked from free improvisation. Action painting with music by Víkingur Ólafsson
Color, stroke, shape... without thinking, letting things happen... accepting everything... taking advantage of everything. Just painting, working with a lost gaze...
Work built in multiple layers, the new covers the old but always leaves its mark. Like in the life of a person or like in the evolution of a species. We see only the present moment but many things have happened previously that, in some way, are there.
We adapt to the environment and move on, everything disappears but leaves its legacy in our genetics and in our culture.
Need to tell things, to leave a mark, to understand the world, which is always modern and ancient.
Nothing matters much... Working with a lost gaze...
Materials used:
acrylic, gesso, pigments, charcoal, wax, graphite, tempera
Details:
- Mixed-media painting on Canvas
