LIFEBLOOD #30 is part of my ongoing exploration of the hidden landscapes within tree bark.
In this image, I was drawn to the vertical crack cutting through the surface, a natural fissure that divides and at the same time unifies the composition.

The palette is restrained: muted greys and soft ochres dominate, while darker shadows emerge like stains, almost as if painted onto the wood.
The interplay of textures—rough fibers, subtle undulations, and the deep split—creates a rhythm that feels both fragile and monumental.

For me, this photograph is not just about documenting a surface, but about revealing the silent energy flowing beneath it: a quiet, organic pulse that persists even in decay.

The image belongs to Lifeblood, a project in which I observe the tree trunk as a living archive. By isolating its veins, cracks, and hidden traces, I search for signs of resilience and transformation, fragments of a vital flow that connect presence and memory.
