Lavender Horizon” was born from a quiet moment in my Dorset studio, when the path in my mind finally cleared. The soft sweep of hills, the lavender fields, the open sky—all of it seemed to whisper: you're free to begin again. The boulders I once saw as obstacles now rest gently beside the trail, part of the journey, no longer blocking it. This is the New Forest as I feel it—not just as a place, but as a space for healing, dreaming, and choosing joy.
I’ve painted this tree before—it has a character all its own—and here it stands again, a silent witness to transition and peace. The pastel sky is a nod to early morning walks and fresh chances, while the whole composition carries the quiet thrill of new beginnings without fear.

This is an original artwork, painted in oil on canvas using a palette of lavender, rose, soft gold and tranquil blue. Layer by layer, I built up the softness of the sky and the shape of the land with delicate brushwork and detail. The tree was painted slowly, deliberately—its silhouette strong yet fluid, echoing nature’s quiet resilience. The boulders are textured, grounded, symbolic—and a little personal.
