This painting of washing laundry in Kolkata, was inspired by a wonderful journey in India.
So much of life in India is lived in public. Many manage to bathe modestly in public at village pumps. Laundry is often performed in public and hung where ever space is available. This can be trees, balconies, or in this case door handles.
