Original oil over acrylic underpainting on canvas stretched on a supported wooden frame. This canvas is part of a series of works dedicated to summer flowers and grasses. Usually, painting started on plain air is finished in the studio.
Stylistically close to impressionism, this painting's unique application of paint and ultra-heavy texture creates a powerful inner-rhythm energy, that evokes closer associations with the abstract impressionism of Jackson Pollock and the impressionism of Claude Monet. Heavy impasto built by brushes and pallet-knifes. The master-quality material has been used. Heavy impasto builds with brushes and pallet knives. Using oil over acrylic technique allows for achieving the brightness of colors and richness of texture. Edges of the painting are covered with archival white linen tape for a clean contemporary look.
