This painting was inspired by the atmosphere of Kyiv at night and the distinctive silhouette of the Hotel Salyut. In the deep blue sky, a glowing letter “M” floats like a quiet urban constellation — a symbol of the metro, an essential rhythm of the city and its nightly journeys.

The landscape combines memory and imagination: palm-like trees and tall grasses create a dreamlike foreground, while the rounded architecture in the distance echoes the iconic form of the Salyut Hotel. A thin crescent moon and soft halos of light enhance the nocturnal mood, suggesting a moment just before the last metro departs.

The painting explores the poetry of urban symbols and personal impressions of Kyiv — where architecture, city lights, and imagination merge into a surreal, almost tropical nightscape. Subtle color transitions and expressive lines give the vegetation a sense of movement, contrasting with the calm, luminous sky.

The work balances reality and dream, transforming a familiar city landmark into a quiet, symbolic scene about night travel, memory, and the atmosphere of the city.
