A Rare sunset for me.
This is an acrylic painting depicting Portree Harbour on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
Its taken from the beech and looking out to the Isle of Rassay in the distance.
I have used some texture medium in the foreground to help create a rugged atmosphere.
As with most of my paintings now I have finished the picture by applying thin washes to the picture and then removing parts to reveal the underpainting.
This painting is mostly made from memory and it helps that I have painted Portree Harbour many times.
