Original artwork description
As I drive across North Dakota, endless rolling hills, clusters of trees and water holes are all I see. It is a big, seemingly empty chunk of the country. The people that live here are special, they are strong and steadfast. The sense of community is what has kept them here for so long. The brutal winters. The stormy springs. And the hot dry summers would chase away any that are not committed. Any that are not in love with this beautiful spot of heaven.
Prairie Churches is a series to honor those old buildings were the brave and few came to worship. It was in these buildings where faith was strengthened and hearts sang with praise and thanksgiving. So many now are just ghost in the vast prairie. Reminders of a time when faith was what we lived on and community was the ties that bound.
Hope on the Horizon is the first in this series. It is 24 x 18 inches, gallery wrapped, wire and ready to hang. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist.
