I painted this pond on location in the Garden of Cats, surrounded by flowers, wind, and cats who would occasionally stop by to make sure everything was going as it should.

What captivated me was interesting moment when the fish become flashes of colour beneath the water, while the flowers above seem to drift into the reflections, as if they want to join them. Petals, leaves, reflections, movement — everything blended together.

This painting is about the feeling of a summer day that cannot be held onto, only painted.
