I'm lucky enough to spend a good deal of time in France, at a charming farmhouse full of inspiring things and a timeless French country garden. The equivalent of a sweetie shop to an artist! This piece was inspired by a beautiful old rose climbing in graceful arches across a seventeenth century coach house wall. The piece has an evocative, yet fresh appeal. The use of a palette knife to introduce a small degree of texture adds both depth and interest.
This painting is sold unframed but is suitable to do so should you wish. I do not varnish my paintings , as I prefer the slightly chalky look of the oils as laid down. If you would like it varnished before sending, I can do so at no extra cost.
The painting is signed, dated and titled on the reverse and initialled on the front.
I ship internationally using an insured, tracked and signed for service. Please note that payment of import duty/tax is the responsibility of the buyer.
