Original artwork description
A painting created from free improvisation. Inspired by the documentary The Snow Leopard and the main theme of the soundtrack, "You Are Not Alone," by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis. The song played like a litany in the studio for days.
Stories of the past and present. The unknown, what slips through our fingers... Nature, antiquity, the earthly and the spiritual.
We believe ourselves to be Gods, but we are just monkeys who have grown up.
Gesture-based, intuitive painting that lets things happen and leans on what appears. Taking advantage of the accident and accepting the consequences.
The need to tell stories, to leave a mark, to understand the world, which is always modern and ancient.
Materials used:
acrylic, gesso, pigments, charcoal, wax, graphite
Details:
- Mixed-media painting on Canvas
