Original artwork description:

An original piece from the series “Windows”, oil and pencil on wood panel, 35 x 25 cm, 2017.

The facade of a building is a sort of skin for it. A dress, a kind of embroidery where the alternation of elements (full and empty, windows, materials, structural and decorative elements) gives a different rhythm every time. In my travels I always wander if it is possible to discover this rhythm and its variations, and if it is specific for that place, or whether modernity has made us all irreparably the same. But probably behind this interest there is also a sort of voyeurism. Who lives in these rooms? Which eyes glance from there? What kind of stories and tragedies hide in those houses?

I was born in 1971 in Turin, Italy, where I live and work as an artist. My main artistic technique is oil painting, on stretched canvas or white fine art paper prepared for oil painting. Usually my work proceeds with the sedimentation of several layers, one after the other. And often each drawing or painting, also if it is sold alone, belongs to a wider series of works. In each series I try to explore and study a peculiar aspect of representation, decoration and languages. Once ended, the painting is finished with a coat of varnish to protect against sunlight and dust. The canvases are painted on the sides too, so they are ready to hang. I have sold my works on several online galleries. My sold pieces are never rolled up but always packed flat. I put them between two sheets of acid free paper with paper or cardboard protection for the corners, and then they are closed in a plastic envelope and bubble packaging. The envelope is stiffen with a sheet of polystyrene on both sides, and the whole thing is completed with a cardboard casing outside. Usually the artwork is shipped in 2/3 days after receiving the payment. All my artworks are original unique paintings, signed. Certificate of Authenticity included.

I’m like a mouse in its box. A little mouse safe in its shelter, that passes his time gnawing the food stored for the winter. But my food are the drawings. I... Read more
