Kolpachny Lane (2022)Oil painting

In September 2022, I painted from life a pink house on Kolpachny Lane. I chose a point for painting the motif next to Mazepas chambers in the Kitay-Gorod area. In the study, I tried to catch fleeting moments and a gliding light. When I started the sketch, a couple of men came up to me, accompanied by a lady. She asked me a very strange question. What will you paint here? What's good about this street? I painted attention to two young artists sitting opposite. He asked me a strange question, I don’t ask him what he found in the lady with whom he was walking. There are a lot of people walking around, and he chose her.
Unexpectedly, when I was already finishing the sketch, a woman with her daughter approached me and, apparently to please the artist, she said: Well, you are a Xerox, so everything is for sure! Unfortunately, Xerox is not an ancient Greek god or "King of Heroes" or "A Hero among Kings", but a famous brand copy machine...
