Original artwork description
I find inspiration for my works by observing things in my everyday life. It could be the pattern on a cup or plate; it could be a pattern on a wall or the way a shadow falls. When I am traveling, I love to take pictures of the landscape and things I see. I often use these pictures as a basis for my motifs.
This painting "Knitting at the pool" shows a swimming pool with three ladies busy knitting/crocheting. The ladies has been applied to the canvas with screen print made from an actual photo. The landscape around them is inspired by the artist Mamma Anderson and her choice of colours. I have interpreted this landscape and made it my own. I love working with the color pink, which appears in several places in the work.
