Artwork description
Kitsune is a Japanese fox-demon, it can shape -shift into a beautiful woman and can live for over 40 000 years. Kitsune is a popular and celebrated creature in Japanese folklore and mythology. There are many shinto shrines honoring Kitsune since it's a known temple and home guardian.
In my own myth interpretation Kitsune is a Guardian of my Inner Peace, Calm and Serenity (maybe, Sanity too:). The Blue Bird of Happiness is a constant provocateur, agitator, and trouble-maker, always reminding of more things to wish, more to require, to strive... This constant wanting ruins balance of understanding of the simplicity of real happiness - to be free and alive. Thus the guardian fox is on the watch for the annoying bird.
Materials used:
ink, watercolor, goldleaf
Details:
- Etchings & engravings on Paper
- From a limited edition of 50
