Kings And Fools (2024)
(Artwork currently available only in USA)
“The ocean is the only kingdom where the crown and the abyss share the same bed. It is a place that grants peace to the kings, but demands everything from the fools who mistake its silence for safety.”
The Duality of Water: Spanning a commanding 150 x 150 cm, this abstract landscape on a 3D linen canvas is a study in atmospheric tension. At first glance, the vast, horizontal planes of deep blue and misty grey offer a sense of profound maritime stillness. However, as the viewer lingers, the heavy texture and the dark, shifting values beneath the surface begin to reveal a subtle, underlying unrest—a reminder of the sea’s unpredictable power.
The Musical Cipher: The title Kings And Fools is a cryptic coordinate within my "sonic diary." It refers to a specific track or a lyrical narrative that explores themes of power, vulnerability, and the thin line between the two. I invite the collector to seek the auditory counterpart to these brooding indigos and electric whites; only when the music’s rhythm aligns with the physical friction of the paint is the true frequency of this minimalistic contemporary painting unlocked.
Architectural Depth: Executed on a heavy 3D linen canvas, the work possesses a sculptural presence that dominates the space it inhabits. Using unconventional DIY tools—sponges, rags, and raw pressure—I have built dozens of translucent layers to create a "kaleidoscopic" sea. The result is a surface that seems to pulse with a low-frequency energy, making it a sophisticated and thought-provoking centerpiece for a large-scale contemporary interior.
