When painting “King of the Snow Plains,” I sought to capture the raw power and resilience of a bison enduring a snowstorm. This is more than an animal portrait—it symbolizes endurance, solitude, and quiet strength. I used a muted palette of grays and blues to evoke the cold atmosphere, contrasting warm tones on the horns and muzzle to draw focus. Fine brushwork brings texture to the fur, while scattered white specks suggest swirling snow, adding both realism and energy to the scene.
