Original artwork description
-Year 1567, in the middle of the samurai era, in the Hida region. Kyonosuke is the son of farmers, all his days are the same and of hard work in the fields; when he is noticed by a nobleman for his resemblance to the feudal lord of the region, Yasutaka.
So he is proposed to become a "kagemusha" or one of the lord's doubles, a "shadow warrior" who takes his place if necessary. Kyonosuke accepts, and his life changes completely: in a short time he must be trained for war and for normal court life, given that he must know how to deceive both the enemies and the friends and family of the feudal lord.
The farmer slowly loses his "I" but earns money and pleasures; but when he finally gets to the end of the training, a harsh reality awaits him…
