Original artwork description
Jal Kalpana (Water Reverie)
Drawn from Sanskrit, Jal Kalpana translates to "Water Reverie” is part of my waterlily pond series - painted after quiet walks by the water gardens. The waterlily pond symbolizes peace, purity, and gentle energy.
This piece reflects the serene rhythm of nature as the seasons shift, a reminder to slow down and soak in its still beauty. Rain or shine, the magic of the garden remains. Imagine a peaceful pond, floating lily leaves, the sun warming your face, and the light changing through the day.
This painting is built up with many layers-acrylic and stucco underneath, with crackled textures that can only be seen up close, and finished with oil paint and knife work on top. The layers add depth and create a dreamy, textured surface in different shades of blue.
Photos don’t quite capture the full detail, but close-up images give a better view of the textures and fine layers.
The painting is sealed with UV varnish, and the 2 cm thick canvas has painted edges, making it ready to hang and experience.
