Original artwork description
Geometry, color, and texture are a continuous theme in my work. This is a group of three paintings that are primary color studies in red, yellow and blue.
Each piece measures 36”x24”, and is painted in encaustic (beeswax, resin and pigment) on heavy duty high quality birch panels. The areas of raw wood are sealed under a clear coat of encaustic wax.
These can be hung together, or separately to create a cohesive atmosphere in a space.
My work is inspired by color field painters and the work Jasper Johns, Henri Matisse, and Hilma Af Klint.
