Continuing my beauty series, It’s A Riot was so much fun to paint. The relative composure of the figure – adorned with her own interpretation of beauty – is contrasted by the overwhelmingly chaotic storm of flowers pressing around her. The painting is loud and alive and turns beauty into something that can’t be contained and nor would I want it to be.
