Original artwork description
There is a famous painting by Edgar Degas called 'Cotton Office In New Orleans' which depicts a bunch of boring besuited old guys hanging out in a beige office doing not very much. Why did Degas paint this? It is as drab a subject as a cardboard warehouse. Picasso at least painted his wives/mistresses/girlfriends in his inimitable splashy style. Choosing a subject for which the artist has some desire is surely a prerequisite. Having OD'd on coffee in another life the holy grail for this artist has been the quest for a decent hot chocolate. A cafe in a castle in Shropshire, England, produced a Rolls Royce of hot chocolates - thick creamy seats, dolby chocolate from the chocolate mines of darkest Burundi, featherlight marshmallow handling. The object of my desire here was found in a night food market in Bologna, Italy. This is the Ferrari of hot chocolates - sleek, stylish, deeply tasteful, hand-made with loving care by a skilled dedicated craftsman. It was chocolove at first sip.
