It Lingers on Nothing is a sophisticated exploration of memory, presence, and the "in-between" spaces of thought. This piece balances the fluid, atmospheric quality of acrylic washes with the raw, immediate energy of oil sticks and graphite.
The composition is anchored by a deep, grounded horizon of dark indigo and earth-toned ochre, which contrasts sharply against the airy, cerulean clouds that dominate the upper frame. Within these washes, a frantic yet delicate dance of pencil and oil stick "asemic" writing creates a sense of "archival snippets"—bits of information or emotion that are caught in the act of disappearing.
