Isle of Purbeck, Dorset
Dramatic and beautiful,
The amber light over the ridge,
Clouds appear,
Deep earthy shades within the hills ,
Colourful autumn trees, bracken and golden heathland grasses.

Words and feelings of seeing this scene, over a very special area of outstanding natural beauty, from Coombe heath across the estuary to the Purbeck hills.

I have signed the front and back of painting.
I went back over this painting that I had created as an art demonstration for my student while I was teaching.
I wet back over the sky to give it more of an atmospheric feel with the clouds appearing over the light. I also then went over the hill ridge to define it more using a small Chinese hake. The trees in the foreground need more colour variation and used my sable hair brush, softly adding more pigments. Pressing lightly with a Chinese brush for the bracken and grasses. I scraped out some of the paint too.
