Island Dreams II is a moody teal, atmospheric abstract landscape inspired by the tiny islands of Rona, Raasay and Eilean Fladday, which sit between the Isle of Skye and Applecross on the Scottish mainland. In this contemporary seascape, the islands emerge only as silhouettes, swirling in mist and softened by distance, appearing almost suspended between sea and sky.

Using long exposure and subtle, controlled camera movement, I move beyond literal detail to create a dreamy, painterly interpretation of place. The vibrant teal blue tones reflect the luminous waters that surround these islands, while diffused light at the centre suggests quiet depth and mystery. The result is an image that feels both elemental and ethereal — magical, contemplative, and full of stillness.

Island Dreams I, II and III are designed to work beautifully as a triptych in smaller sizes, or as individual large-scale statement pieces for a room. Together, they create a rhythm of tone and atmosphere that echoes the calm presence of the islands themselves.

Each print is produced by me in my studio using Canson Aquarelle paper, chosen for its subtle watercolour texture and archival quality. I oversee every stage of the printing process to ensure colour, depth and nuance are faithfully preserved, maintaining complete control from concept to final artwork.
