The figure on my painting is enjoying a painting by Jean Michel Basquiat. ISBN contains a rich repertoire of paint traces, figural fragments, written fragments and collage elements. The black skull with the rasta hair is clearly a self portrait. Unlike many other graffiti stars Basquiat never gave up his social critique or his artistic protest. My figure is taking it all in.
