In Counterweight, dispersed gestures and dense interruptions establish a shifting equilibrium across the surface. A vivid red cluster emerges on the left while dark forms on the right resist and rebalance its force. Between these events, layers of pale pink and white allow the composition to breathe.
Rather than guiding the eye toward a fixed center, the painting invites movement between independent moments. Marks appear, hesitate, and remain unresolved, preserving the raw energy of their making.
