Series: Comfort Zone
Title: Innocent Lie II
Dimensions: 32.5 × 50 cm (sheet size), image size 27.5 × 45 cm
Materials: oil on 300 gsm paper

Innocent Lie II continues the exploration of emotional vulnerability, self-protection, and the fragile space between honesty and illusion within the Comfort Zone series. The work reflects on the subtle ways people reshape reality in order to preserve emotional balance and avoid painful truths.

The figure is presented without identity, fragmented and withdrawn into itself. The closed posture and restrained gestures suggest both comfort and confinement, creating an ambiguous emotional atmosphere. The body becomes a quiet expression of inner tension — a visual language of concealment, hesitation, and emotional survival.

Unlike the sharp exposure explored in Naked Truth, this work moves toward softer psychological territory. Here, deception appears almost tender: not as manipulation, but as a protective layer placed between oneself and reality. The lie becomes intimate and habitual, slowly blurring the line between emotional safety and self-deception.

The palette is built around deep muted tones — black, dark umber, warm brown — combined with soft transitions of ochre, bronze, and skin tones. Diffused light gently dissolves the contours of the figure, reinforcing the atmosphere of silence, introspection, and emotional distance.

Within the Comfort Zone series, Innocent Lie II questions the role of emotional comfort in human relationships and self-perception. How much truth can a person endure? And at what point does protection become disconnection from oneself?
