Original artwork description
"Indigo Pulse" explores the tension between physical strength and emotional vulnerability. A seated male figure folds into himself, surrounded by intense indigo, cobalt and turquoise tones against a vivid pink ground. The body is constructed through energetic acrylic brushstrokes, allowing the figure to appear both solid and fluid, powerful and exposed.
There is a sense of introspection in the pose, but also of contained energy — a private moment in which the outside world seems to disappear. The vivid contrast of blue and pink gives the painting an emotional and contemporary presence, while the expressive handling of paint keeps the human figure at the centre of the work.
For me, the painting is about desire, vulnerability and the quiet intensity of inhabiting one's own body. It may particularly speak to collectors drawn to expressive male figurative painting, contemporary portraiture and works that explore intimacy and identity without needing to define them.
