- IN MEMORY OF BLESSED SANSEDONI
Original artwork description
Artwork in which I devised an imaginary portrait of Blessed Ambrogio Sansedoni (Siena 1220-1286), depicting him with the miniature of Siena, whose patron saint he is, in his hands. He had exceptional gifts as a persuader and it is also due to him that, because of the disagreement between the Council of Lyons and Emperor Frederick II, a schism did not break out in Germany (1245). He died a victim of his zeal during a sermon, for he spoke so vehemently against usurers that a vein twice ruptured in his chest, causing his sudden death. I created the work with a throbbing heart, pouring my passion into the oil to capture the emotional and spiritual essence of a soul that transcends time. My brush danced between expressionism and fine art, embracing figurative forms and vintage flavor to bring to life an image that speaks to the soul. The energy it exudes is a vibrant blend of wisdom and deep connection to roots, bringing a sense of historical peace and contemplation into your home.
